Neil Richardson

Neil is a UK-based ashtanga yoga teacher, though for the past few years has been dividing his time equally between India and the UK to deepen his practice and gain experience. Having learnt to overcome different injuries himself, he teaches with compassion for the body and joints, from his own observations and experiences.
He has studied with different teachers from all over the world, but always with a Mysore Ashtanga background; therefore his priorities are to give students a home practice that will flow whilst being compassionate to the body.
He says: “Everybody is different, so adaptations need to be made, even whilst following Sri K Pattabhi Jois teachings.”
He feels that when yoga is flowing well, life is too!
Neil started as many people did, focused on the asana. Over time he has become more aware of the eight limbs of ashtanga yoga and has learnt to appreciate life much more by enjoying a more yogic lifestyle. This he hopes to pass on to students so they can either go on to teach from personal experience and the heart, instead of from text, or just to help deepen their future practice. He is always aware of his body and mind, and wants to pass on his passion for Ashtanga to others.
Neil is a member of the Yoga Alliance.
