John Bailey

John has been involved in fitness training since he was 19, having received expert instruction from a former Olympic athlete.
Over the years as a fitness instructor/personal trainer he has gained qualifications in flexibility, advanced programme writing, sports-specific exercises, self-defence instruction and TRX instruction. He has trained TV celebrities and sportspeople, including martial artists competing in British and International tournaments. In addition, he is a qualified teacher (Cert Ed /DTLLS) who has taught students of all ages, leading classes/workshops on various aspects of health and fitness, including healthy eating and manual handling and lifting. John has also delivered classes on anger management, motivation, self-esteem, self-awareness and personal protection.
Since moving to Devon from London in 2000, John has trained a huge variety of clients, ranging from those wishing to increase/maintain fitness whilst reducing body fat, to individuals learning to cope with specific ailments such as diabetes and Parkinson’s disease and strokes, with whom he has had excellent results. He “lives and breathes health and fitness”, understanding the ageing process and how to mitigate it.
As well as enjoying all sports, including squash and cycling, his other interests are food, cooking, music and photography.

Welcome to Henry Tang
Another massage therapist has joined the team. Henry Tang has a number of specialisms, including pregnancy massage, sports massage and cranio-sacral therapy.
New timetable
We have made some changes to our class timetable. In particular, Vinyasa Flow yoga and Tai Chi times have changed, and the Monday night primary led Ashtanga yoga has been split into two classes, at 18.00 and 19.30 due to demand.
